The 11th ship in the American Cruise Line fleet, American Harmony blends big-ship amenities with a modern river cruise boat to create something that is unique on the Mississippi. The Grand Suites, of which there are six on board, measure 650 square feet, and the Veranda Suites (ten on board) measure 645 square feet. The ship measures 241feet and carries 109 passengers at full occupancy with 50 crew. A stand out facility is the adventure and swim deck, equipped with kayaks and a tender to offer a different perspective of the waterways being visited.

In addition, space for relaxing and lounging is provided on each level of the ship's four-story atrium, and a small library with destination-relevant books is situated all the way at the back of the ship on 2nd Deck. The Main Lounge is located all the way forward overlooking the ship's bow, while a secondary lounge (known as the Sky Lounge) is situated one deck up, all the way at the rear of the ship. There is also an outdoor cafe where you can dine casually outside while enjoying riverside views.
The Mississippi River cruise that we went on in March of 2024 was outstanding. The ship, our room, the crew, the food, the service, the shore excursions, the evening entertainment, the buses and tour guides, lectures, etc. could not have been better. My wife and I signed up for two more cruises based on our experience on this one. We had not been on a river cruise before and we highly recommend American Cruise Lines. The closet has 12 coat hangers, but you could add more. The crew is wonderful and the chef did an outstanding job of catering to different needs.

Love history so the speaker are always a hit for me. There wasn't a single aspect of my cruise on the lower Mississippi River that I would change. The employees were all very kind and helpful, they went out of their way to make everything enjoyable.... We celebrated both my birthday and our anniversary while on our cruise and the staff made both very special events for us. Each of our cruises has enabled us to meet new people and explore different places in the US in a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere. Wyatt, the ship’s cruise director, the chef, the servers, and the gal that cleaned our room each day were absolutely the best we’ve experienced. Clearly, they’ve been trained well, and the desire to serve the guests on the ship was a part of the cruise line’s DNA. Everything was top notch on our trip.The fact that the crew keeps all the events and excursions on a tight schedule really impressed us.
House keeping was very efficient and did a great job on the rooms. The entertainment on the cruise was fun and really good. All the staff coordinating the excursions including the bus drivers, Kim, were great. American Harmony's uppermost deck features open-air seating and plenty of viewing space for those who want to take in the sights and sounds of the Columbia and Snake rivers.
He retired the end of October and will definitely be missed. Have told many people about this cruise and look forward to going on another American Cruise Lines adventure. The ACL Welcome Aboard packet states that gratuities aren’t necessary for onboard personnel, but many guests tip anyway.
Particularly noteworthy are the two Grand Suites that measure 900 square feet apiece and include balconies that wrap around the stern of the ship, offering 270-degree views of the Mississippi River. These suites also boast separate living and sleeping areas with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Meals are served in the ship's grand dining room on Main Deck, which is capable of seating all passengers with no assigned tables. Regionally inspired cuisine is served up each day, from sumptuous breakfasts to multicourse dinners.
